UPDATED 5/10/22 AVAILABILITY
Huge $7.97 Plant Sale!
937 perennials and shrubs must sell this weekend! May 13-14-15, 2022
We have some really nice plants grown for you here in Oklahoma City.
Hydrangea paniculata 'Silver Dollar' $7.97. Look at those summer flowers!
Hydrangea paniculata 'Phantom'.
The largest ever flower clusters have strong stems for cut flowers and will hide a 6' fence when grown as a hedge. Phantom is an unpatented sibling plant to patented Limelight Hydrangea but wasn't as widely marketed back in the 00s compared to Limelight. Pink tinge to the cream white flower clusters. $7.97 each.
Hydrangea paniculata 'Chantilly Lace' $7.97.
The antiquey color of the faded blooms is part of why folks love the Paniculatas for dried flowers. They bloom on new wood, so it doesn't matter what time of year you are cutting on these type of Hydrangeas, they'll still pump out flowers that summer.
Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight' PP#12,874 $7.97.
Fades to a green tinge on the white flower panicles. These are the kinds of hydrangeas I grow in OKC because I don't have that much shade or patience for the pink/blue/purple Bigleaf Hydrangeas to get them to grow and bloom for me. If your hydrangeas have stopped blooming or changed color, you probably have Bigleafs. Panicle Hydrangeas love full sun and summer.
We grow for the wholesale market so the deal is we only can have these event plant sales twice a year where everything available is out front. The City of Oklahoma City permits us to sell our plants retail at a 3-day garage sale between 8am and 6pm. Get out here early in the day to get your pick.

FLOWER FARMERS, CUT FLOWER GROWERS, and all those wanting to boost their flower power year after year: Plant Hydrangeas and Viburnums for "Snowball" blooms! Choose from:
Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle'
Annabelle is the Snowball Bush to many. An old-fashioned cultivar of the native smooth hydrangea which flowers on old wood (so only prune after the flowers -- not a problem if growing for cut flowers!)
Viburnum plicatum f. plicatum 'Popcorn'
Popcorn Viburnum, called Japanese Snowball Bush, is similarly beloved. One of the best for heat and drought tolerant, densely growing, and beautiful.
We have these really cool plants, native cone cluster Oakleaf Hydrangeas:
Hydrangea quercifolia 'Snow Queen' is large with whiteish flower cone clusters
Hydrangea quercifolia 'Ruby Slippers' is small with reddish flower cone clusters
They look great in the landscape, adapt to most situations, and are the hydrangea to choose for anyone who is not going to prune much. For real life. $7.97 each
They look great in the landscape, adapt to most situations, and are the hydrangea to choose for anyone who is not going to prune much. $7.97 each
Also native to North America, Mapleleaf viburnum (Viburnum acerfolium) and American kalyna / highbush cranberry (Viburnum opulus var. americanum, was Viburnum trilobum) have showy berries, leaf shapes, flower colors, and white lacecap flowers.
Cut flower Perennials:
Convallaria majus rosea, Pink Muguet
Liatris spicata alba White Kansas Gayfeather
Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm' Black-eyed Susan
This Rudbeckia cultivar is the Perennial Plant of the Year 1999
Tall garden phlox Phlox paniculata 'David'
Garden favorite David has white flower clusters in sun or shade. $7.97 each
Plant Hardy Lily bulbs in the flower bed now for summer flowers!
Choose from (left to right) Mona Lisa, Navona, and BlackOut(TM), these don't need staking.
But what about shade, like a lot of shade!
Astilbe and Hosta propagate by division and send out flowers when happy. They can be particular about moisture (yes) and sun (not) requirements but reward both novice and experienced plant parents with lush and full growth in the spring, flowering in the spring, and going dormant in the fall.
I especially like the look of Hosta 'Blue Cadet' heart shaped dusty blue leaves that are heat tolerant with light lavender star balloon flower scapes 2' foot tall.
Hosta 'Wide Brim' has outer yellow variegation fading to cream, a green and golden hosta that can take some sun. $7.97 each
Newly planted are Hosta 'Dream Queen' and Hosta 'Albo picta fortunei'.
Adding some hosta can help support honeybees in August.
Left to right: Blue Cadet, Blue Mouse Ears, Wide Brim, all sun tolerant hostas for shady areas.
This Bumalda is a really great Astilbe for shade. The foliage is bronze color and then the strong white plume flowers fade to a light pink.
Brightens up the spot between two houses! Astilbe x arendsii Bumalda
Daylilies do well in sun, even the south side of the house, but have you tried them in shade, too? I grow several varieties of pink, peach, and apricot colored daylilies. Don't cut on these - each flower opens for only about a day, so there is frequently a new bloom every day for months. $7.97, choose from:
Hemerocalis Apricot Sparkles
Daylilies are edible and carefree.
Weeping Yoshino ornamental cherry tree, Prunus x yedoensis 'Shidare Yoshino'
I have only 19 Weeping Cherry Trees at $7.97, these are treelings and will need to stay staked to keep growing upright as a tree until reaching your desired height. Yoshino Cherry trees flower in pink and live for 50 years or more.
BACK IN STOCK Purple leaf sand cherry, Prunus x cistena, hybrid between purple leaf plum and sand cherry.
Rare Grafted Japanese Red Maples: Moonglow, Skeeter's Broom, Hefner's Red
Golden currant, Ribes aureum, 2' tall bare root ready to plant.
I know it's ridiculous, you can point and laugh at me, but it's just easier for me to keep everything I can at $7.97. These can be installed in the landscape and watered in every month until they are 6' tall, which is probably in 2 years.
We have these native sweet smelling shrubs to add to your garden bed or border, both with red flowering shapes:
